Harry Potter was diagnosed with ADHD today.
There’s a part of me that thinks I should be sad about this diagnosis, but I’m not sad.
In fact… I’m thrilled.
We’ve spent the last 4 years wondering why Harry Potter won’t sit down, follow instructions, and cannot control his impulses.
I can’t tell you how many nights I’ve sat there brainstorming ways to fix the situation.
Have you ever been in a situation where you just can’t win?
Where it feels like the walls are closing in on you and no matter what you do the space gets smaller and smaller?
That is what these last few years have been like.
Forget princess dresses, she’s a superhero… also we don’t own any princess clothes.
Can we take a few minutes and chat about girl clothes?
When we found out that the Princess was in fact a girl (I can’t tell you how many times Mr. Spreadsheets made the ultrasound tech check and then recheck that she was actually a girl), I was stoked.
I was thrilled for a lot of reasons, but I have to admit that I thought girl clothes would be so fun.
And girl clothes are so fun… but… well there are some things that just frustrate me. (more…)
Non vomit day when she practiced getting out of her bed.
You know how sometimes you have a plan, and then all of a sudden you need a new plan? Vomit puddles seem to do that to us.
Sorry if vomit bothers you… you aren’t cleaning it up… but feel free to skip this post.
I went to get the Princess from her bed this morning and she was COVERED in throw up.
Like it was all over her bed, in her hair, on her clothes, and all over the floor in front of her crib.
When Harry Potter was a baby we were pretty cautious of his schedule.
I remember carefully packing him snacks, extra clothes, and enough diapers to last a week, just to go to story time.
Things are a little different with the Princess.
I keep a couple of diapers in the the car just in case, but she sure as heck doesn’t have a change of clothes, and most of the time her “snack” is whatever I find in my bag. (more…)
Do you ever have those moments with your kids when you just have to stand back and ask yourself how they got hurt… again?
AsthmaMan has had a recent string of facial injuries.
As we all know facial injuries result in two things:
- A LOT of screaming
- A LOT of blood
Monday Morning Bathroom Cleaning- HECK YES!
Mr. Spreadsheets will tell you that I am one of those people that have to start the day off on the right foot.
Some people can start off with chaos and have a perfectly cheery day… I am not one of those people. (more…)
This is my face after the dentist visit, notice the balloons, the kids LOVED the dentist.
I hate going to the dentist.
No offense meant to dentists out there, but I hate everything about it.
The face touching, the horrible spinny brush, the “bubblegum” flavored muck they put on your teeth, the water sucker, the entire experience, from waiting forever in a waiting room, to that gritty feeling in your mouth when you’re done.
Oh and the people (dentists and hygienists) that talk to you while their hands are in your mouth… like you can respond!
So… I’ve put off visiting the dentist for… a good long while.
And I’ve put off taking the kids to the dentist… for a good long while too.
